The app

Capture Companion is a local menu-bar utility. It does not phone home, send usage statistics, create an account, or transmit anything about your camera, your shots, or your shoots. The only time it contacts a server at all is to activate or re-check your licence — described below.

When it uses the network

Two things, both deliberate:

Your own router. To watch your Wi-Fi signal and run the Tether Doctor, the app reads statistics from your own router over your own local network, using read-only commands and a key you control. That stays on your Mac — it's never stored remotely or sent off your machine.

Licence activation. Once, when you enter your licence (and occasionally to re-check it), the app contacts our licensing provider, Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com), sending only your licence key and a random per-install ID to activate and verify your seat — never your name, your photos, or your shoots. After activation it runs fully offline.

This website

capturecompanion.ie is a static page. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics.

Purchases

When you buy a licence, payment is handled by our payment processor (e.g. Stripe). They receive the details needed to take the payment and send you your download and licence — your name, email, and payment information — under their own privacy terms. We never see or store your full card details. We keep your email and order record only to deliver the product, provide support, and meet tax/accounting obligations.

Your rights

You can ask us what order data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it (where we are not legally required to keep it for tax records). Just email us.
